7th International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration
13 April – 31 July 1992
This exhibition contained 90 artworks by 86 artists from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, England, Germany, India, Japan, Netherlands, People's Republic of China, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, Sudan, the United States and Vietnam, including loans from the Japan Botanical Art Society and Nihon-Kobunkan Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, Jardin Botanique National de Belgique in Meise and Wageningen Agricultural University in the Netherlands. Selections from the full exhibit were included in a travel show that circulated to museums, schools, botanic gardens and other institutions. The exhibition was partially supported by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
An illustrated catalogue with biographical data, portraits of the artists and reproductions of the artworks accompanied the exhibition. Collectively, the seven International series catalogues included 622 artists and were the most comprehensive record available of contemporary botanical artists and illustrators to date.
