6th International Exhibition of Botanical Art & Illustration
8 April – 31 July 1988
This exhibition contained 98 artworks by 95 artists from Australia, Brazil, Peoples' Republic of China, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, England, India, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain, the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, including loans from the Japan Botanical Art Society in Tokyo, Academia Sinica in Beijing and the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in Leningrad. A poster and catalogue with biographical data, portraits of the artists and reproductions of the artworks accompanied the exhibition. Collectively, the six International series catalogues included 560 artists and were the most comprehensive record available of contemporary botanical artists and illustrators to date.
