This exhibition catalogue included biographical information about Frederick Andrews Walpole (1861–1904) by John Brindle (1911–1991, curator of art, 1961–1982), a checklist of the 52 items displayed and a dedication by Gilbert S. Daniels (director, 1970–1977) to William Andrews Archer (1894–1973), who rediscovered the artist's work while at the Smithsonian and worked to reassemble the material and to learn more about Walpole.
